Content

Acknowledgment (iqrār) deed concerning a debt of 115 shiyānī, 72 ṭās of barley, 60 ṭas of wheat. Verso contains a note written in Judeo-Persian, summarizing the details of the acknowledgment. The reason for the debt is not stated in the document.

همی گوید ابی الحسن بن جوجه بتن درستی بعقل ورغبـ[ـت]  2
خویش که داد فاید مـ[ـرا] مـ[ـر] بو نصر دانیال را از  3
 شیانی صد پانزده شیانی که نیمه باشد پنجاه هـ[ـفت نیم] 4
شیانی از گندم شست <دو> طاس که نیمه باشد  5
 سی <یکی> طاس از جو هفتاد دو طاس که نیمه 6
 باشد سی شش طا[س] این صد پانزده شیانی 7
 شست طاس گندم هفتاد دو طاس جو فر من 8
 که ابی الحسن ام حقی ست واجب فامی لازم 9
 مرا از این باز گشتن نیست تا این شیانی برها 10
 بدوی تسلیم نکنم [حاله] این سیم برها تا 11
 سه ماه پیوسته واین خط نبشته آمد اندر ماه 12
جمی دلاخر سنه ثمان عشر واربعمایه 13

Translation
Folio:
1  In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
2  Abū al-Ḥasan b. Jawja states in his own sound body and mind, of his own desi[re]
3  as follows: “It is incumbent upon m[e] to give Bū Naṣr Dāniyāl
4  shiyānī – one hundred and fifteen shiyānī, half of which being fifty-se[ven and a half]
5  shiyānī; wheat – sixty bowls, half of which being
6  thirty bowls; barley – seventy-two bowls, half
7  of which being thirty-six bow[ls]. These one hundred and fifteen shiyānī,
8  sixty bowls of wheat and seventy-two bowls of barley are
9  a binding obligation, an obligatory debt upon me, Abū al-Ḥasan.
10  I cannot revoke this as long as I do not deliver
11  to him this shiyānī (and) the kinds of grain”. These silver (and) kinds of grain [are to be transferred] within
12  three consecutive months. This document was written in the month of
13 Jumādā II, in the year four hundred and eighteen.

Witness Clauses

14 Mīrān b. Muḥammad was a witness to his acknowledgment and he wrote (it) in his handwriting.
15  Muḥammad b. Abī al-Ḥārith was a witness to his acknowledgment and it was written according to his order.
16  Abī al-ʿAbbās b. Abī Naṣr was a witness to his acknowledgment. He wrote (it) in his handwriting.
17  ʿUmar b. Aḥmad was a witness to his acknowledgment and he wrote (it) in his handwriting.
18  Shāhak b. Mīrān was a witness and he wrote (it) in his handwriting.
