Content

Acknowledgment (iqrār) deed concerning a debt of 55 shiyānī to the credit of Ibrāhīm b. Dāniyāl. The reason for the debt is not stated in the document. Ibrāhīm b. Dāniyāl is the brother of Abū Naṣr b. dāniyāl, the archive owner, and may be identified with Abraham, son of Daniel, whose name is written in the margin of a Hebrew liturgical poem kept at the NLI (Ms. Heb. 8333.221=4).

Translation
Folio:
1 In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
2 Abī al-ʿUmayr b. Abī Muḥammad from w.n.q f.r.k.l.y.n acknowledged in his own sound body and in [his own sound] mind, of his own free will, with no […]
3 he was [?] concerning the (following) matter: “I owe Ibrāhīm b. Dāniyāl fifty-five shiyānī […]
4 free [?], half of which being twenty-seven and a half shiyānī. This (amount of) shiyānī is an obligatory debt on me [and an obligation]
5 that rests upon me [lit., “upon my neck”].  I revoke this as long as I do not deliver to him this debt completely. This is to be transferred within six months.
6 I wrote this document in the month of Jumādā I, in the year three hundred and ninety-five”.

Witness Clauses

7 Abū al-Ḥusayn b. Abū Naṣr was a witness to the acknowledgment of Bul-ʿUmayr and he wrote (it) in his handwriting.
8 Abū al-ʿAbbās b. Abī Naṣr was a witness to the acknowledgment of Bul-ʿUmayr and it was written according to his order.
9 ʿAlī (b.) Rāmjūl(?) was a witness to the acknowledgment of Bul-ʿUmayr and it was written according to his order.
10 Mīrak b. Abū Ḥasan was a witness to the acknowledgment of Bul-ʿUmayr and it was written according to his order.
