Content

Acknowledgment (iqrār) deed concerning a debt of 70 shiyānī and 30 ṭās of wheat to the credit of Abū Naṣr b. Dāniyāl. Verso contains a note written in Judeo-Persian, summarizing the details of the acknowledgment. The reason for the debt is not stated in the document.

بسم الله الرحمـ[ـن الرحیم] 1
مقر امد احمد بن محمد بتن درستی بعقل خویش 2
فی مکروهی فی ستمی کداد فاید مرا مر بو 3
نصر دانیال را هفتاد شیانی او سی طاس 4
گندم کنیمه شیانی باشد سی او پنج وان گندم 5
باشد پانزده طاس گندم وام لیزم حق واجب 6
مرا ازین فاز گشتن نیست تا ین حق بدوا 7
تسلیم نکنم واین خط مر او را حجت واین خط 8
نبشته امد پنج گذشته بود از ماه صفر 9
سال فر چهار صد وده حاله این تا سه ماه 10

Translation
Folio:
1 In the name of God, the Merci[ful, the Compassionate.]
2 Aḥmad b. Muḥammad acknowledged in his own sound body and mind,
3 without any coercion or force as follows: “It is incumbent upon me to give Bū
4 Naṣr b. Dāniyāl seventy shiyānī and thirty bowls
5 of wheat, of which half of the shiyānī being thirty-five, and [half] of the wheat
6 being fifteen bowls of wheat. [It is] an obligatory debt, a binding obligation.
7 I cannot revoke this as long as I do not deliver to him this debt”.
8 This document [serves as] evidence for him. This document
9 was written on the fifth [day] of the month of Ṣafar
10 in the year 410. This is to be transferred within three months.

Witness Clauses

11 Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Abī ʿUmar was a witness and he wrote [it] in his handwriting.
12 Shāhak b. Abī Muḥammad b. Abī Naṣr was a witness to the acknowledgment of both of them and [he wrote it in] his handwriting.
13 ʿAlī b. hʾ--- was a witness to the acknowledgment of both of them and he wrote in [it] his handwriting.
14 Muḥammad b. Abī al-ʿAbbās was a witness and he wrote [it] in his handwriting. Valid.
