Content

The diwan official ʿUmar orders Abū Bakr b. ʿUmar to hand over five donkey loads of wheat to the seed account of the village of Shawāniq which is the property of or administered by the sipāhsālār Zangī. This should be delivered via the chamberlain (sharaf al-ḥujjāb) Amīn al-Dīn to the hand of ʿAlī b. Muḥammad Khurūsh. The document is issued in accordance with the rates assessed by the inspector (ʿāriḍ) Kamāl al-Dīn. The format follows the standard for drafting cheques also found in Ms.Heb.8333.91 (also issued by ʿUmar) - see Irani and Saffari, Kuhantarīn, 124.
